Sports enthusiasts in Northbridge and surrounding areas are celebrating the installation of new AFL goal posts at Warners Park, delivered through a partnership between Willoughby City Council and AFL NSW/ACT.
The junior footy posts are part of a broader effort to encourage informal play and make football more accessible to families and children. Their installation was marked by a community celebration during Parks Week, recognising the role of local parks in promoting healthy, connected communities.
Mayor Tanya Taylor and Councillor Sarah Royds joined local families at the event, welcoming the new addition to the park. The goal posts are designed to support casual participation and strengthen grassroots sport as AFL continues to grow across the state.
The project highlights a strong commitment to improving community facilities and fostering active, inclusive lifestyles.
