Toyota Australia has announced it will discontinue the Toyota GR Supra. With customer orders for the current-generation performance coupe closing in August 2025. The model will end its six-year run in Australia, marking the close of an era for the iconic sports car.

Since its launch in September 2019, the GR Supra has delighted local customers. Its rear-drive dynamics, turbocharged performance and striking design helped elevate the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing profile across the country.

Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley said the current GR Supra will leave a lasting legacy in the automotive industry.

“The GR Supra already had a sterling legacy when the current generation launched in 2019. We’re pleased to say it has exceeded the expectations set by its predecessors,” Mr Hanley said.

“Its pulse-raising performance, sleek coupe design and thrilling dynamics helped raise the profile of our GR portfolio. It also paved the way for other exciting models like the GR Yaris and GR Corolla.

“Customers will no longer be able to purchase their own GR Supra by the end of August. However, fans will still be able to follow its story when the sports car lines up on the Supercars Championship grid in 2026 and beyond.”

The GR Supra line-up includes the GT, GTS and the recently added Track Edition. Toyota offers each variant with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. Customers who want to secure one should speak with their preferred Dealer as stock is limited.

The Track Edition is the most focused version of the GR Supra. It features motorsport-inspired suspension components and extra bracing, which make it more agile and dynamic than ever.

Other distinguishing features include front wheel arch aero flaps, upgraded front tyre spats, a carbon fibre ducktail spoiler and 19-inch matte black alloy wheels. Red-painted brake calipers further set the Track Edition apart from the rest of the GR Supra range.

A 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine powers all GR Supra models. It produces 285kW/500Nm and sends power to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential.

Since its arrival in Australian showrooms, the GR Supra has attracted more than 1400 buyers to the midway point of 2025.
