Celebrate Australia Day 2019

Australia Day in Sydney

Get ready to celebrate Australia Day with hundreds of events and activities planned for Sydney and across NSW.

Australia Day is an opportunity to come together to celebrate the unique and diverse culture of Australia, from the country, cities and in the heart of Sydney.

There are many fantastic events around Sydney with live music, family entertainment and awe-inspiring fireworks.

In Sydney, begin your Australia Day at Barangaroo Reserve by taking part in a smoking ceremony, celebrating the world’s oldest living culture and singing the national anthem.

Head to the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay to catch the finish of the annual Ferrython and Tall Ships Race. Observe a stirring 21-gun military salute from the armed forces, and join a crowd of choirs to sing the national anthem. Then watch on as the dancing fleet of tugboats and yachts perform in a one-of-a-kind maritime ballet.

The Sydney Street Party in The Rocks will feature giant games, roving performers and food trucks. Get down to listen to dynamic musical artists SaxBeats.
