Couple shot, man in custody – Bidwill

A man and a woman remain in hospital and a second man is in police custody after a shooting near Mt Druitt.

Police from Mt Druitt Police Area Command had been called to a home in Kidd Close, Bidwill, about 7.30pm (Tuesday 20 March 2018), responding to reports of gunshots.

Officers found a 47-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman inside the home suffering gunshot wounds.

They were taken to Westmead Hospital, where they are reported to be in a serious but stable condition.

Police established a crime scene and a canvass of the street was conducted.

A short time after the shooting, a man was arrested by police nearby. He remains in custody.
