Appeal for information over car fires – Bankstown

Police are investigating after two cars were found on fire in Sydney’s south-west.

About 12.45am (Thursday 15 March 2018), emergency services were called to Northam Avenue, Bankstown, following reports a car was alight.

Fire & Rescue NSW extinguished the fire and the vehicle, a Mitsubishi Lancer, was towed.

About 1.15am on nearby Adept Lane, officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were called following reports of another car on fire.

The fire was extinguished before it caused any damage to nearby property.

No one was injured in either incident.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the car fires. Initial inquiries suggest the two incidents are not linked.
