Police pursuit, driver arrested – Fairfield PAC

A man has been arrested after his car crashed into a pole following a brief pursuit with police in Cabramatta.

About 11.15pm (Monday 12 March 2018), officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command noticed a Honda Accord travelling on Cabramatta Road.

Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over for a random breath test but it failed to stop.

Police engaged in a short pursuit with the vehicle before it crashed into a pole on the Hume Highway, Liverpool.

The 30-year-old male driver suffered an injury to his jaw and was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory tests and further medical treatment.

Police established the identity of the two passengers in the vehicle and they left the scene pending further inquiries.

Charges are expected to be laid against the driver upon his release from hospital.
