Police are investigating after a large fire at a building in Sydney.
Emergency services were called to a large building at the corner of Pitt and Alfred Street Sydney about 8.45am (Tuesday 13 February 2018), after reports of a fire.
Occupants of nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution.
Fire and Rescue NSW officers extinguished the blaze.
The building, which was due to be demolished, sustained significant damage.
Multiple people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, however did not require further treatment.
Officers attached to Sydney City Local Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding the blaze.
It is not known if there are any suspicious circumstances; inquiries are continuing.
