Sawn off rifle and shotgun seized during search of home

Police have seized two firearms during the search of a home in Sydney’s south west.

Strike Force Kelmscott was established by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad as an ongoing investigation into the illegal supply and possession of firearms and drugs across south west Sydney.

As part of their inquiries, strike force investigators, with the assistance of police attached to South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad, executed a search warrant at a home at Liverpool about 9.30am yesterday (Thursday 11 January 2018).

During the search, police located a sawn off .22 rifle and a 12-gauge sawn off shotgun.

A 52-year-old man was spoken to at the home, but no arrests have been made.
