Fatal pedestrian crash – Villawood

An investigation has commenced after a fatal crash in Sydney’s south west.

About 9pm (Tuesday 2 January 2018), a man was struck by a vehicle travelling west as he crossed Christina Road, Villawood.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital but died a short time later. Details on his age and identity are not available at this stage.

The male driver of the vehicle was uninjured and was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

A crime scene was established and police from Bankstown Local Area Command with assistance from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit have commenced inquiries.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
