Police investigate robbery and assault

Police are investigating a robbery and assault in Lewisham.

About 5.30pm (Thursday 7 December 2017), a 29-year-old woman was in the garage of her home on Gould Street, Lewisham, when she was approached by two unknown men, one of which was armed with a metal pole.

The men demanded money from the victim. The woman, not having any money, gave the men her debit card and yelled for help.

A 32-year-old female resident came to her assistance. She was assaulted before the men fled towards Moreton Park.

Both women didn’t require medical treatment.

Officers from Marrickville Local Area Command commenced inquiries.

The offenders have been described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged between 13-17 years old and of medium build. Both men were wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident.
