Child approach – Villawood

Police are appealing for information after a girl was approached by a man in Sydney’s south-west.

About 10am (Tuesday 5 December 2017), police have been told a 16-year-old was walking on River Avenue, Villawood, when a van pulled up ahead of her.

A man stepped out of the car and approached the girl. He reportedly spoke to her and offered cash before following her down the street.

The man was last seen getting back into his white van which had a black stripe down the side.

The girl was not physically injured.

Police from Fairfield Local Area Command have commenced an investigation.

Officers wish to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He has been described as being of Asian appearance, slim to medium build, aged in his early 20s, with short black hair, and was wearing long pants and a fluorescent yellow shirt.
