Single vehicle fatal crash, critical incident

A crime scene has been established following a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on the Northern Beaches.

Shortly before 11pm (Monday 13 November 2017), officers from Northern Beaches were following a vehicle on the Wakehurst Parkway, North Narrabeen.

Officers attempt to stop vehicle.

The vehicle then crashed into a tree and caught alight. The male driver died at the scene.

A crime scene has been established and officers from Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A critical incident team will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident.

That investigation will be subject to independent review and all information will be provided to the Coroner.
