Police are investigating the armed robbery at a service station in Eastern Creek, and exploring potential links to two other robberies.
Just before 2.30am (Thursday 9 November 2017), police have been told a man entered the store on Wallgrove Road armed with a firearm.
The man reportedly threatened an employee before stealing cash and cigarettes.
No one was injured.
Police wish to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He has been described as being of Caucasian appearance and about 180cm tall.
Investigators believe the same man may be responsible for two other armed robberies; one at a hardware store at Prestons, and another at a service station at Kemps Creek.
Anyone who has information that may assist investigations into these robberies is urged to come forward.
