The Future Agent was the focus of the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales’ fifth annual Summit held in Sydney on Friday (1 September 2017).
REINSW President John Cunningham said the Summit was attended by 100 of NSW’s most progressive and successful agents and as an invitation only event the purpose was to plant the seeds and create strong influencers and ambassadors for the movement of Professionalisation.
“The Summit has built on successive years of industry feedback on the direction it needs to take moving forward and following on 2016’s event which launched the concept of a nationally recognised Professional standards scheme it was exciting to see that significant progress had been made,” Mr Cunningham said.
“REINSW has been running a test case over the past six months in planting the seed within the industry to enable REIA to effectively launch a national awareness campaign in 2018 for both agents and property consumers.
“This will form part of the information gathering exercise to form part of our application to the professional Standards Council of Australia for approval of the REINSW scheme.
“The Summit and The Industry Think Tank on professionalism held at NSW Parliament House in July 2017 have succeeded in spreading the word and creating ambassadors that will carry this initiative to its conclusion, it is early days but progress has been swift and the excitement is building,” Mr Cunningham said.
The speaker line up included John McGrath of McGrath Estate Agents, Australia’s number 1 residential agent Alexander Phillips of Phillips Panzer Donnelly and coach Caroline Bolderston from Being Bold as well as Shannan Whitney of BresicWhitney and Peter Matthews from The Agency.
