Time to recognise the best in business

Entries for the 2017 IMB Bank Illawarra Business Awards closed on August 7 2017 and the judging panel will now be assessing each nomination to assess the best of the best.

The Executive Director of the Illawarra Business Chamber, Chris Lamont, said new categories provide more opportunities to recognise business diversity across the Illawarra.

“Interest by business in the 2017 IMB Bank Business Awards has seen record sponsorship and we would like to thank all our sponsors who have so generously supported the region’s premier business awards program,” said Chris Lamont.

The Awards program includes four new categories – Tourism, Retail & Hospitality, Social Enterprise and the Wollongong City Centre Business Excellence Award.

2017’s Awards has a ‘Diamonds are Forever’ theme to celebrate both the hidden and not so hidden gems of the Illawarra business community.

The Awards have been running for more than 20 years and showcase some of the leading business talent and success stories for the region.

There are 17 award categories to enter in 2017 and winners of 12 of the NSW aligned award categories will get State wide recognition as finalists in the NSW Business Chamber Awards.

“As we start the judging process, it is tremendous to see the achievements of individuals and businesses, who each play such an important role in providing employment as well as goods and services in this region and beyond. Finalists will be announced on Monday 11 September 2017,” said Warwick Shanks, KPMG Illawarra Managing Partner and Auditor of Judges.

“The Chamber looks forward to celebrating with you at 2017’s Awards which will be held on Friday, 20 October 2017 at the WIN Entertainment Centre,” said Chris Lamont.
