The Cleanest Street in Lakemba Competition – Entries open NOW !!
The Cleanest Street in Lakemba Competition is a project of Environment@Lakemba, a dedicated group of local residents who want to make Lakemba a more attractive and healthy place to live.
Supported by Canterbury City Community Centre and Canterbury Bankstown City Council, the group is very excited to be running this latest competition, which will cover the suburb of Lakemba, a total of 60 streets and 16,000 residents.
Yoonus Noorgat said; “Lots of people in Lakemba are unhappy about the illegal dumping and litter that happens, this is a great opportunity to join with others and keep your street clean.”
Winners will be announced at Haldon Street Festival on Saturday 28th October 2017, with Prizes for Cleanest St and Most Improved Street. Prizes include special street signage recognizing 1st and 2nd place in the competition as well as a Billboard displaying the winning street at Lakemba Train Station.
Streets will be judged by a panel of judges on the amount of litter and illegally dumped household goods, as well as the tidiness of the nature strip. People that enter will be their designated Street Champion and receive resources and support to connect with others and keep the street clean.
