1 May 2017 is the start of the new fishery season for one of Australia’s largest suppliers of fresh Australian seafood, the Southern and Eastern Scalefish and Shark Fishery (SESSF).
With the quest now on for Australia’s best fish and chips, there has never been a better time to enjoy one of the many species caught in this fishery.
Popular eating species like blue grenadier, pink ling, flathead, silver warehou, and fish and chips favourite gummy shark (flake) are all caught in the SESSF.
What’s more, with catch limits based on the best available science, you can have confidence that the product you are eating will be around for current and future generations to enjoy.
This means great news for seafood lovers across the country!
With so many options, making a decision on the best fish and chips will be difficult, but it’s just another reason to test out that many varieties of sustainable, Commonwealth managed seafood on offer, and support a great Australian industry.
