Pedestrian hit by car – Freshwater

A woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Sydney’s northern beaches.

Around 7am (Tuesday 18 April 2017), emergency services were called to Harbord Road, near Brighton Street, Freshwater after reports a woman was hit by a vehicle.

The 65-year-old woman sustained a fractured leg and a suspected fractured skull. She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the Mazda, a woman aged in her 50s, was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Officers from Northern Beaches LAC attended and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
