Residents of Crows Nest will see the launch of one of Australia’s most modern supermarkets when Woolworths opens the doors of its new store on the corner of Alexander Street and Burlington Street on Thursday 28 April 2016.
The new 3,800 square metre store is part of a $52 million investment and will officially open on Thursday, 28 April 2016 providing customers with fresh fruit & vegetables, inspiring meal ideas, a wide choice of healthy options and a huge range at great prices. The store will also have a dedicated Thomas Dux aisle.
Woolworths Crows Nest Store Manager, Terese Borg, said 115 people would be employed at the store creating employment opportunities for the local area.
“We are delighted that the opening of the new Woolies will see us welcoming so many new people to the team.
“Our aim is to connect customers directly with our fresh food producers. With 100 per cent of fresh meat and 96 per cent of fresh fruit and veg sourced from Australia, our store will highlight the wonderful seasonality of produce along with tips for the best uses for products,” Terese said.
The new store will include a butcher, a delicatessen, and a fresh sushi bar. The store will also include a focus on wellness with the Woolworths Macro range that includes free range, ‘free from’ and organic choices.
Twenty-two checkouts will be available for customers including traditional, express and self serve checkouts.
Woolworths Crows Nest is celebrating the new store launch with donations to the local community including a cheque presentation to Phoenix House Foundation and North Sydney Girls High School and North Sydney High School Boys. Customers are welcome to join in on all the opening day festivities.
The store will be open 7.00am to 10.00pm, seven days a week.
